History

The goal of St. Paul's Day School is to provide an enriching experience for Preschool and Kindergarten children.  We strive to enhance your child’s emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth in a Christian setting of nurturing and love.  We encourage individual growth through a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences.  Our  mission is to be as responsive to the needs of the children and their parents as we possibly can.

St. Paul's Day School was founded as a service to the community of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in 1957 by women of the parish.  The school’s program served children ranging in age from infancy through four years old.  The school operated with this approach for approximately 5 years.  At that point the needs of the church and community were reassessed and a decision was made to include the Westfield community at large.

For the next 3 years the school increased its enrollment and outreach to the community.  The vestry of the church again reassessed the needs of the community.  With numbers and needs researched, the decision was made to expand the two-year-old program while giving up the infant segment to another program in the town.  Afternoon classes for three and four year olds were initiated and a supervised play option was added to extend the time available to parents and children of the program.

In  September, 1994 St. Paul's Day School began its full day Kindergarten program, which now includes three classes.  Current enrollment of the total program is in excess of 250 children.
